Who I’m Looking For
I’m looking for a full time employee who is genuinely interested in this type of work and has a knack for working with their hands and problem solving. You don’t have to love steam locomotives, but having that common language would be a plus!

If you work on trains, cars, bikes, or anything mechanical professionally or just as your hobby, please describe in detail the extent of what you do. And please share photos of anything you’ve worked on, machined, or built! If you have experience with CAD programs, pictures showcasing your 3D modeling would be appreciated!

Pay
$22-30/hr depending on experience.
We may be able to help with some moving expenses depending on the circumstances.

Job Description
• Setting up and operating CNC Lathes and Mills (Mitsubsihi / Fanuc / Haas controllers)
• Measuring parts with micrometers to check for tolerances and adjust tool offsets accordingly, replacing tools or inserts when necessary
• Saw cutting and facing material to prepare for subsequent machining operations
• Preparing castings for machining including grinding, filing and bead blasting
• Assembly of EE products, including final inspection and preparation prior to finaly assembly
• Operating a stationary boiler to test injectors and other products/appliances
• Shooting wax patterns for investment casting
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Must have a feel for delicate tightening
• Attend live steam meets/shows to assist with the EE booth
• Must be able to lift 80lbs
• Driving to pick up tools or materials (additional compensation by mile)

If you don’t know how to do any of these things but are confident that you would be able to learn, please still consider applying!

Plus but not required
• Interest in steam locomotives or steam technology in general
• Experience operating and troubleshooting injectors
• Experience running miniature and/or full size steam locomotives
• Experience setting safety valves
• Experience with CAD / CAM (SolidWorks / Fusion360)
